lyrics

There's a girl in a four dollar coat
She's playing a guitar and she's singing a song she wrote
It's a song about drinking all day
And the blood on the hands of the government men we pay

Then she laughed just like a mexican train
But her voice is like a god damned rat spitting out names

She calls me an ugly machine
I say the wine in your glass is no better than the wine on my jeans
Her demeanor is coarse at first
She says I'll take what I can get as long as it kills the thirst

Then she says I'll take one more

We trade in our wine on some rye
She says "you'll never get a tear out of me hell I'd love you to try"
So I ask "hey have you ever been down"
She turns it around and says "silly boy take off your crown"

Then she laughed just like a mexican train
But her voice is like a god damned rat spitting out names

There's a girl in a four dollar coat
She's playing a guitar and singing a song she wrote
It's a song about drinking with me
About a silly boy wearing a crown with wine on his jeans

Then I say, won't you play, one more
